This course provides students (teachers and/or trainers) with the skills and conceptual knowledge for instructional design and development of student-centered learning activities in learning environments. The course also addresses critical issues in the instructional design and development process, including effective modifications of instruction that uses advanced technologies for special needs students, and mentoring other faculty members. Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to:
- Define student-centered learning.
- Describe student‑centered learning strategies applicable to their learners and professional learning environment.
- Design an effective instructional/training lesson using student‑centered learning strategies.
- Analyze a variety of student‑centered learning theories as they apply to the design and implementation of instruction/training.
